For our first excursion in 2017, cadets went to Bells Rapids to investigate the sustainability of the local ecosystem.

When we arrived we were in for a shock. After all the rain we have had in the last few weeks, the river was pumping. There was so much water flowing, we could not cross the river, which was a first.

Despite this, students got to work, analysing quality of water, searching for invertebrates and scoured the area for evidence of human activity and interference with the environment.
